Space Battles and Upgrading
Speed
Indicated how many squares a ship can move on its turn
Guns
Guns indicate how many d6's a ship gets to roll on its attack
Range
Just like ranged weapons this shows the distance a ship can fire
Shields
Many ships have shields these must be lost before a ship can take Hull Damage
Hull
This is what a Starship is made out of. If the Hull hits 0 the ship is destroyed and any pilot inside is destroyed. Many ships can try and jump to hyperspace before they are completely destroyed.
Battling with Different Types of Ships
StarFighters: These are single one man fighters they will always hit on 5-6
Freighters: These are larger vesseles that normally carry supplies but at times passengers as well. when in battle they hit on 6 against StarFighters, 5-6 on Freighters and Shuttles, and when battling cruisers will hit on 4-6.
Shuttles: These ships commonly are not as battle hardy but can take a beating with high shields and hull defense. These ships hit Starfighters on 6, and Freighters and shuttles at 5-6. If they do find themselves battling a cruiser they hit on 4-6
Upgrading
What is the fun of buying stuff if you can't upgrade it! In STAR WARS upgrading is not just for survival but it allows to you create your own unique stuff. All ships have upgrade potential. This allows you to customize beyond the base ship that you buy.
SPEED
When upgrading speed it requires 1/3 base price of the ship +1d10 weeks. When complete your ship gains +2 to the number it currently has.
GUNS
What is a ship without its armaments. You can upgrade weapons for 1/3 base price +1d10 weeks. When complete your ship gains +2 to its current number.
RANGE
When upgrading Range it costs 1/3 base cost of ship + 1d10 weeks. When finished the ship gains +2 to both numbers. For example if it was 2/4 it becomes 4/6.
SHIELDS
When upgrading shields you pay 1/3 base cost + 1d6 weeks. When complete you gain +1 to shields
HULL
When upgrading shields you pay 1/3 base cost + 1d6 weeks. When complete you gain +1 to HULL
HYPERDRIVE
Not all ships come equipped with Hyperdrives. To upgrade a ship to have hyperdrive it requires 2/3 base cost of ship + 1d10 weeks. When complete the ship can travel through hyperspace.
